Internal Speaker

Hi Guys,

I need your help to know how can i disable the internal speaker in 7010,7020,7040,7050,7060 as we don't want the user to use it, just he can use an external USB or 3.5 min jack speaker ?

Hummm... Don't have your models, but with the OPTIPLEX 9010 in:

("F1"  "F12" at startup)...  BIOS>  SETTINGS>  "AUDIO" ...  there is a OPTION to turn AUDIO totally OFF (or on).

Hope this helps!

Your post is a bit confusing. The speaker ports on those models is a headphone jack on the front and a line out on the back and both are 3.5 jacks. So the question becomes which speaker do you want to disable as those both would require external speakers yet you want to disable external speakers?

Maybe I am missing something is which case SOGLAD5 is on the nose.

Confusing, yes...

The BIOS method should mute all audio...  If you intend to mute only the internal speaker... you should be able to unplug it from the motherboard quite easily (depending on the model).

I guess you mean the internal, noise maker speaker (beeper/chime)that gets, real wild with POST ERRORS?

one can just unplug them.

or the  optional speaker pair that some put inside  there.

the 3.5mm jack green is line out for power external speakers. (sound and audio , 2channel)

sorry for the confusion, my bad :)

what i meant is i want to disable the built in speaker as some users are using it with some applications and we need them to use the 3.5 jack or a USB speaker.

I'll try to mute it from the BIOS settings.

There is no disable of this speaker.  If its the business speaker you physically unplug it.

@AndreaSus wrote  i need to know if this one has internal speaker?

Not sure why you posted to someone else's thread asking for a solution to their problem...

But yes, ALL Dell Computers come with an internal speaker.

The Dell Optiplex 3070 MT manual indicates that yes, the 3070 MT has an internal speaker.
