disconnect all hard drives and turn on. It should be sitting at an error.

Thanks Speedstep, but that still results in "Invalid Format" and no access to bios

Does the monitor work elsewhere?

Interesting, so if no VGA, what do you propose? grab a small video card and try?

Re:  grab a small video card and try?

Only if you already have one.  Test with what you have around.  Depends on what type of monitor inputs you have, try different cables, adapters.  I use Dell adapter, but a basic adapter would work as well.

If you are connecting to a 4K TV using HDMI cable, check your TV settings to see if you can change HDMI to enhanced mode and try both HDMI2 or HDMI3.

Thanks I have already tried this on HDMI and DP, so I'll find a video card and try that I guess

Well I have tried the unit on 3 monitors both in HDMI and DP.

But I grabbed a video card (had to remove guard plate, SFF problem) and was able to leave the connect dangling.

DVI gave invalid format
HDMI on the external card worked and gave me the big Dell logo startup followed by bios! Thanks

Funny in the bios said video was running off the onboard intel vs. the nvidia
