Monitor upgrade possible? OptiPlex 7010 SFF all-in-one 19" monitor

Hi, I purchased a refurbished Dell from a reseller. The specs are,

Dell OptiPlex 7010 SFF all-in-one
Processor: i5-3470 CPU @ 3.2GHz
Display card: generic Intel HD Graphics
Monitor: Dell P1914Sc (maximum resolution at 1280 X 1024 pixels).

Wondering if I can buy an upgrade monitor replacement at 19" or 21" (using the same mount) so I can see HD movies at 1080p resolution or above.

Thanks!

Your cpu is not generic

Its Intel® HD Graphics 2500 which is very low end 3rd gen graphics.

USFF has no upgrade path whatsoever.

SFF can use specific GT1030 cards.

1920 X 1080 on intel graphics might be choppy especially streaming video

below 30fps is choppy

Intel® HD Graphics controllers only support DVI single-link rates

ivy bridge hd2500 is the low end

hd2500 fpshd2500 fps

Thanks!

I don't want to change the video card but wondering if I can change the display (19") so I can play HD-level videos.

At the moment the max resolution I can select from is 1280 X 1024. I wonder if I can change the display so I can play at least 1920 X 1080. Best if I can remove the current monitor from my console and plug in the new one. Don't know if that is possible.

Is what you have a combo with the SFF sitting on the back of the monitor?  https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-OptiPlex-7010-SFF-All-in-One-22-1920x1080-Monitor-Desktop-Combo-16gb-Ram/264766037321?hash=item3da5491d49:g:-44AAOSw7Rde6RLa

Of course you can change monitors.  I can't guarantee you'll find the monitor separate whereas the SFF can be mounted on the back, but you can most certainly change monitors.  If you haven't already, checkout ebay, amazon, newegg, etc.

If your unit is just an AIO (no separate PC box) I don't know if monitors are sold separately, but would checkout the sites I mentioned.  Starting with Google can bring up even more options.

@NickL9394,

You still have options though.  No guarantees, but the I5-3470 might support 1920x1080 graphics.  Before my last answer, I checked into if the I5-3470 could support 1920x1080 or what it's max resolution is.  I couldn't get a concise answer, but here's what I did find.  See screengrab below.  Images appear when approved by moderation.

Here's what I found when I looked up the I7-3770.  It can support up to 2560x1600 graphics.

Though you stated not wanting a GPU, if your graphics do end up being choppy, the GTX 1050 ti will go great with your current CPU.

Graphic card and processor will work great together:

Intel Core i5-3470 (Clock speed at 100%) with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (Clock speed at 100%) x1 will produce only 0.42% of bottleneck. - PC Builds
