SupportAssist OS Recovery Reset Options are unavailable?!
Hello, I have a Dell Optiplex 3020 Desktop Computer that I'd like to reset back to factory settings so I created a bootable USB Flash Drive using the Dell OS Recovery Tool on Windows 10, as I don't have a recovery partition on my hard drive. It told me that I use a Windows 10 Image which is automated by SupportAssist so I did that and it completed successfully. I restarted my computer into the OS Recovery USB and click on the Start Reset option and all the reset options were grayed out, I assumed it didn't detect my WiFi Dongle that I had plugged in so I plugged in an Ethernet Cable and the options were still grayed out but this time on the "Reset and Update" option it says "Not available on this computer." I don't know what is going on here and why I can't reset my PC this way?

3020 is from 2012 long before support Assist ever existed.
Dell posts this information when the specific model is EOL when the next model is released.
Current Model is 3080
https://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/cty/pdp/spd/optiplex-3080-desktop
This model is well past the System Design Life Cycle SDLC support window of 5 years MAX.
Its an EOL EOS system.
Dell does not support systems for 8 years or more because parts for the model including chipset and processor are not available that long from INTEL.
Microsoft also has a 5 year Life cycle for software which is why Office 2007 2010 2013 2016 is EOL
current windows has Office 2019

You can try going back into the OS Recovery tool, if there is a manual vs Support Assist download, it might still work.
1) Open up the tool, at the bottom there is a button that says "Switch to Advanced Recovery". Hit that button.
2) Check "For Another Computer" under "Select from available OS images". Enter Service Tag. Hit Magnifying Glass. Hit "Next" at bottom right.
3) Hopefully there are side-by-side images that come up. The left one says "Win 10 Automated by SupportAssist" and the right one (if it's there) is the manual download that says "Win 10" with only the Reinstall OS Manually option checked. Click the right side image to select and hit "Download" at the bottom. Picture attached for reference.
This will allow you to manually install your OS from the USB drive you download it to without worrying about Support Assist, if it comes up for your Service Tag. If not, you might truly be SoL.

To bra51776 :
Thanks a lot, your solution helped me.
Many people are not aware that OS Recovery Tool has this advanced option.
Thanks again.
Have a great day

I followed this process, after struggling with boot options for several hours, and got an "Unable to locate file to download. Please contact tech support for additional assistance." Since my machine (8920) is out of the service term, I would have to pay more to get this thing running.
I'm just pulling out the components and building my own PC, the route I should've taken to begin with. Sorry Dell, I have to work with your tech at Work, but you've lost my business going forward.

@Rusty2644 , you can always install Windows 10 from a USB drive built with the media creation tool, then use SupportAssist to install any remaining drivers. It'll even save you a bunch of time that you would have spent updating Windows. All for free.
