Windows update killed audio

My Optiplex 7050 Micro was working fine until a Windows update ran tonight. Now the only sound output option is Display Audio. The display is a VGA monitor using an HDMI to VGA adapter. Again, this setup was working normally until the Windows update. The headphone jack worked fine but now does nothing. I ran the Driver Update wizard and it is now totally current with BIOS and drivers. I still only have Display Audio available as an output. I uninstalled the Windows update, but it didn't help. If all the drivers are up-to-date according to Dell driver update wizard, why do I have only one audio output option?
