Optiplex 755 and ESXi 6.5 Core 2 CPU Compatibility

Just wanted to share with the community for anyone searching for help with the following error when installing VMware ESXi 6.5 onto an Optiplex 755.

"The CPU in this host is not supported by ESXi 6.5.  Please refer to the VMware compatibility Guide (VCG) for the list of supported CPUs."

I installed the following CPU and am now able to install ESXi 6.5.

Though I did get a "warning" that this CPU "may not be supported in future versions of ESXi".

But it did install fine!

The CPU I used:

• Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz SLB8V 12M/1333/05A Socket 775 CPU Processor
