RecoverPoint in combination with Oracle Dataguard for DR RAC solution

Dear experts,

In my company we are working in the design of DR strategy for our RAC Database 11g.

We are planning a DR with 2 levels of protection:

Level 1: Volume Protection

     To achieve this objective we will use RecoverPoint replication Groups that will contain the ASM DiskGroups associated to the database.

     This will replicate the database storage to our DR oracle cluster

Level 2: Database Protection

     At this point we plan to use Oracle Dataguard to create a physical standby database in our DR oracle cluster

As I have read in several white papers and discussion,  the combination of the two approaches is possible and enhances the protection of the database but I don't find any document that goes deeper in this topic

Do you have experience on that?

This white paper (although a bit old) provides some good guidelines on how Oracle DG and EMC RP complemented each other to address enterprise level HA, DR.
