Option 1: Power down the system and then proceed to step three.
Option 2: To hot remove a drive. From the RAID management software, prepare the drive for removal and wait until the hard-drive indicators on the drive carrier signal that the drive can be removed safely then proceed to step three.

Pinch the hard-disk release latches together.

Rotate the hard drive handle away from the chassis.
5.
Slide the hard drive out of the chassis.
6.
Reverse the previous steps to replace the hard drives.

Pinch the hard-disk release latches together.
Rotate the hard drive handle away from the chassis.
Slide the hard drive out of the chassis.
Remove the front bezel.
Squeeze the release mechanism on the front of the drive carrier, and rotate it downward to open the drive carrier handle.
Carefully pull the drive carrier from its slot.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 to remove the remaining drives.
