PowerEdge T410 Amber Light on LCD - No Message/No Power

I have a PowerEdge t410 server that has an amber light on the LCD display(no message).  Server does not power up.  I have tried the following troubleshooting steps:

-Unhook power and drain power for 15 mins, still no power

-Took out call external cards, still no power

There is currently no light on the power supply, however if I press the button on it the green LED lights up and the fans start.  I assume this is a power supply test button?  Where should I start troubleshooting at?  What does and amber light with no message indicate?

Hello.

Ambert light indicates an error condition. Review the hardware logs via iDRAC for additional information. If drianing the system flea power did not help, reseat hardware components including power supplies, hard drives, memory, PCIe cards, processors etc and try again. Otherwise, bring the system to minimum to POST with the following components with all USB devices including mouse and keyboard disconnected:

  • System board
  • CPU1 (Min for troubleshooting)
  • Heatsink for CPU1 for prevention of over-heating
  • One memory DIMM in DIMM A1 for CPU1.
  • Power Supply (PDB is required for redundant PSU)
  • Control Panel

Thank you.

A new power supply fixed the issue.
