Array Manager, PercPro Error, Event ID 571

Hi

After I boot the server i get three errors:

73 Warning 27.02.2005 17:21:20 PercPro 571 PERC 3/DC Controller 0 (Cluster), Array Disk 0:1 Sense Key = 3, Sense Code = 13, Sense Qualifier = 0.
If this disk is part of a redundant virtual disk, select the 'Offline' option and then replace the disk. Then configure a hot spare and it will start the rebuild automatically. If this disk is a hot spare, select the 'Prepare to Remove' option and then replace the disk. If this disk is part of a non-redundant disk, you should back-up your data immediately. If the disk fails, you will not be able to recover the data.

72 Warning 27.02.2005 17:21:20 PercPro 571 PERC 3/DC Controller 0 (Cluster), Array Disk 0:1 Sense Key = 3, Sense Code = 13, Sense Qualifier = 0.
....

71 Warning 27.02.2005 17:21:20 PercPro 571 PERC 3/DC Controller 0 (Cluster), Array Disk 0:2 Sense Key = 3, Sense Code = C, Sense Qualifier = 3.
....

Installed Versions:
- PERC 3/DC 1.96T / 6.35.2.32
- PERC 3/DI 2.7.1(3170) / 4944
- Dell OpenManage Array Manager 3.4.1 (build 532.4)

I found on http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=pv_raid&message.id=838&view=by_date_ascending&page=2 something about the error 571, but i think it's not the solution for me. i've got a newer version (1.96T) and not the Fujitsu MAM3367MC drive.

I didn't found anything about the error with the sense code 13.

Should i realy replace the disk?

Thank's a lot for your help!

These errors indicate unrecoverable medium errors on 2 disks. My recommendation would be to replace these disks
one at a time, allowing each to complete the rebuild before replacing the other.

I also am getting this error, but I am unable to identify exactly which disk needs to be replaced. Is it reporting the disk to me in hexadecimal?

PERC 3/QC Controller 0, Array Disk 255:255 Sense Key=FF, Sense Code=FF, Sense Qualifier=FF. If this disk is part of a redundant virtual......

lukanicbrian - A SCSI sense key and code of FF is invalid and represents some sort of transient condition that is not being reported correctly.  If the disk is offline, then I would suggest you bring it back online and let it rebuild or go through a consistency check.  There is not enough information to diagnose the cause of the problem.  It may not be hardware at all.

Re: Array Manager, PercPro Error, Event ID 571

All of the drive and array LEDs are lit up green, and nothing appears wrong with the array. You may be right that it is not a hardware problem. I will perform a consistency check next. Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks

Brian

phone Dell and you get a new harddisk! maybe you've to execute a tool and send the results to your supporter.
