C2100 Drive Order

Hello-

What is the order of the drive numbering on a C2100?  Does it go from left to right or top down? In other words, which drive is drive 1, which is drive 2, etc.  The server is remote so i can't test.

Actually neither.

It would be

Upper left

11              8             5                2

10              7             4               1

9                6             3                0

The drives are number by the specific backplane installed. With the 3.5" 12 HDD 1:1 backplane, as well as the 3.5 expander backplane it will be numbered as seen below. 

3.5 3.5

If you have the 2.5" Expander it will be numbers as such;

 2.5” Expander backplane drive numbering

Let me know if this helps clarify the drive architecture.

I had previously tried that to no avail. I also tried opening this in Chrome, Firefox, and IE - no go.  Can you upload them to one of those site?

Ok, let's try it this way.  My C2100 has 3.5 inch drives and are in a matrix 3 down by 4 across.  

Are the drives numbered this way:

1   2   3   4

5   6   7   8

9 10 11 12

Or this way:

1  4  7  10

2  5  8  11

3  6  9  12
