Can the PERC H730 RAID controller handle two separate RAID arrays on two sets of HDDs?
So, I'm looking to build a server that will have 2x 1.6TB PCIe SSDs, and 4-8 4TB SAS 7200RPM HDDs. I'd like to have the two SSDs mirrored in a RAID1 array (these will house the Linux server OS), and I'd like to set up the 4-8 4TB 7200RPM drives in a RAID5 or RAID6 array. Can this be accomplished with a single PERC H730 RAID controller? Or would I need to somehow install a second RAID controller? I'm pretty unfamiliar with this sort of thing, so any input is appreciated. Thanks!
RE: Can the PERC H730 RAID controller handle two separate RAID arrays on two sets of HDDs?
The pcie SSDs connected directly to the CPU through the pcie lanes and do not use the PERC H730. So to create a RAID 1 it would have to be an OS level RAID and the H730 only handling the storage drives
