Can you stop a Reconstruct?

Hi,

I can't seem to find the answer to this anywhere. I'd like to know if it's possible to cancel/stop/abort a reconstruct on an array once its started.

I have used the Add Member option in the OpenManage software to test expanding an array before we put the server into full-time use, but now need to stop it (in a previous test this still hadn't completed over a weekend and I needed to physically unplug the devices to stop it) I would like to try increasing the build rate, but if this makes little difference I don't want to continue Adding a member.

A yes or no would be great.

Thanks,
Shane

Absolutely not, this will wipe everything in the raid array.

i don't care about any of the data, but i do care about the 30+ hours this is going to take to finish. there has to be some way to abort the process.

The process is aborted by unplugging one of the drives that is involved in the reconstruction process. perhaps there is a better way, however?
