Dell Poweredge R710 upgraded backplane W814D 6 bay SAS/SATA
What I would like to know is if the PERC H310 supports this backplane the W814D is a 6 bay SAS/SATA 3.5 with two Mini SAS (Like) connections on the backplane while the H310 also has two Connection ports does this card support the W814D Backplane is my question with the PERC H310 in a Dell Poweredge R710 also what cables are needed if so and is it simply connected using the two ports from the backplane to the two ports on the H310 using two sperate cables or is hooked up differently?

Hello
No, it is not supported. The H310 is a series 8 controller that was released with the 12th generation server line. We have not validated it to work with older generation systems. You may be able to get it to function, but we have not validated it to function. The configuration would also not be supported if the system is under warranty.
You would just connect SAS cables from the controller to the backplane.
