H700 compatible with PE1900?
So just to confirm, my 1900 is running BIOS 2.7.0, and not sure what the ESM is but the H700 will work in a 1900, even though it's not on Dell's supported list?

Someone said the unsupported H700 works on a 2900 ... it is not the 1900, but it is similar enough that it may work.

Daniel, this information has been mentioned over and over in this thread. The resurrection of this thread was not even related to the topic of non-certified drives.

There are no validated/supported 6Gbps RAID controllers for 9G systems (1900/1950/2900/2950). Those were introduced with the rollout of the H-series controllers.

I have already tried a H700 in my 1900. It does show up and I was able to see drives on there. I just have not bought any 6GB drives yet. I think I may just keep the H700 until I get a T310 or T410.

In your 1900, how did you power the hard drives? the cable that has come with my H700 has a 12pin P3A (very much like the 24 pin power cable on standard motherboards) and i have no other way to power my HDD aprt from splicing power cables, which i do not want to have to do
