How to decrease the metadata size in Raid 5 for Dell R740 Se

Hi, Recently we had supplied to our client Dell R740 servers with 6 Nos of 400GB SSD Drives. Our aim is to show minimum of 2 TB after Raid5. Unfortunately, After Raid configuration, system showing available size of the raid group is 1.8 TB. Raid Controller card is "PERC H730P+ RAID Controller, 2Gb NV Cache, Adapter, Low Profile"

My query is, how to increase the raid group size from 1.8TB to 2 TB in Raid5 configuration.

Please help me in this regard. Thanks Satya

Hello

There is nothing you can modify to increase the available space to 2TB. You are comparing two different things. The drive size of the SSD is listed in Gigabytes(400). The controller and most computer systems measure in Gibibytes(372.529). If you use a conversion tool to convert 2000 Gigabytes to Gibibytes you will come up with 1862.645. That appears to be the size you are seeing, so everything appears to be functioning correctly. You can probably find articles online that explain more if you are interested.

Thanks
