How to import or reset Foreign status

Hello,

I accidentally pulled out 3 drives from a raid 5 and now we have drives showing "Foreign" status.

How can I get these drives back online with out LOSING  the existing data.

Please help.

Thanks

You need to IMPORT the foreign configuration, then you need to not do that again :)

Yes, that did the trick,,   Sometimes something as simple as a label can prevent disaster!

Thanks

I have a similar issue.  I inserted 2 new hard drive for failed RAID 10.  RAID 10 is not showing in list of RAIDS anymore. I have a separate RAID for OS and that is showing up as raid.

When I view them as drive they show as RAID 10 Span1 Physical drive(2) and  Virtual drive(1) with Foreign status. Missing Span 0. The 2 new drive are foreign and not part of RAID. When I try to import the raid drives it will not import. How do rebuild this raid. Please help
