How-to upgrade firmware on PERC H710 mini
Running ESXi 5.5 on PowerEdge R720.
OMSA reports firmware out of date.
Which package to download and how do I install it under ESXi ?

I think I had already found that download.
It contains both a Windows and Red Hat Linux DUP - am I safe to run the Redhat DUP under ESXi ?
Can the entire package reside on a datastore supported by the controller I am upgrading ?
Or does it become inoperative during the upgrade process ?

You can apply the updates through the iDRAC via the Update and Rollback link and then point to the Windows 32-bit DUP

I have production PowerEdge R720xd server with Perc H710 Mini Embedded. I need to upgrade Perc firmware. Can I execute SAS-RAID_Firmware_1TJRK_LN_21.3.2-0005_A07.BIN in usb live ubuntu system? File description says "Update Package for Red Hat Linux".
Is firmware upgrade safe for raid array?

It may or may not work under Ubuntu.
I'd suggest to use the previously mentioned method of using the iDRAC to push the firmware (can use the Windows executable).

I have no iDRAC setup. Then I can execute on usb red hat linux?

Hello,
I have also dell poweredge r620 with h710 mini controller and I need to update firmware.
my question is will I lose arrays because it's web server with 300 accounts and my arrays needs to be up after I upgrade firmware with .bin file from command line.

No, it will not affect arrays. If you power it off in the middle of the update, then that is a different story, but if it runs normally, it will not affect the configuration.
