I purchased a Dell CERC SATA RAID 1.5/6ch (Adaptec 2610sa) controller on eBay for a very good price. I installed it in a Chaintech nForce4 Ultra motherboard (32 bit/33mb slot). I used the BIOS management to set up a RAID5 array of four WD 500GB drives. I installed Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 and used the Adaptec driver version 4.2.1.7372 to get Windows to recognize the CERC card.

Under Windows this all works well. However I want to have the management software as well. I downloaded the Adaptec RAID Storage Manager, v.RSM 2.12.00 B913, A06 from the Dell web site and it installed perfectly. Well of course EXCEPT for one small thing, the management software can't find any SATA controllers.

So what am I missing here?

Hi Hoult,

Look at the compatibility link at the bottom of the page, you got the version for XP...

Try this version: here  It's for W2k3 server. and W2k3 X64 server. be sure to uninstall and cold boot before you install the new version.

Thanks Gary..

I've downloaded the new software. I'll try it out when I get home. I'd do it remotely, but if "cold boot" means shutting off the computer rather then just restarting it I'll have to wait (dang it!).

Thanks for the reply & link...

Steve

Does anyone have a link to the driver for the Adaptec 2610sa, for Windows XP?
