New HD not found by Perc H710

Hello,

I am running a PowerEdge T420 with A PERC 710 raid controller.  Eight drives are installed.  

One of the drives started blinking yellow, and the iRAC light on the back was yellow

I replaced it with a new, still in the wrapper, Dell provided replacement drive.  The new drive blinks a green light, and the iRAC light is now blue.

RAID controller software though does not see the new drive.  It sees 7 drives only.  I've rebooted a few times. changed drives carriages, but no luck.  The PERC does not see the new, eigth drive.

Any ideas how I get the controller to see the replacement drive?  or could it be a bad drive out of the wrapper?
