PE2900 Expanding RAID5 array.
Hi all.
I have a PE2900 running Windows 2008 R2 x64 based WHS 2011 RC, with PERC5/i RAID controller which is currently configured with a pair of 250GB disks in RAID1 and 3x 2TB disks in RAID5. I believe that it is possible to add additional drives to the RAID5 array, but I cannt find the software to allow me to do this. I had an old version od Server management but it's 32 bit only.
In my searching for RAID tools i read that the LSI MEGARAID cards are the same os PERC5 cards so I installed the LSI RAID mananger software and it alls me to create VDs, but not to reconfigure them. Can someone tell me where I can download the software from the Dell Support site? I've done some searching but couldn't find anything that seemed to fit the bill.
Thanks in advance

You will likely need to uninstall LSI's software first, then then you will need the OpenManage Server Administrator software to do this:
http://ftp.dell.com/sysman/OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-Web-WIN-6.3.0-2075_A00.20.exe
Download and run to extract files, then run C:\Openmanage\windows\setup.exe. Choose Custom and make sure that Storage Management is installed.
Then you will go to Storage, PERC, Virtual Disks, and choose Reconfigure from the dropdown list for the RAID 5.
There is a good chance that it will not install automatically on here ... it just depends on exactly how the OS Check is performed and what string is returned. If for some reason it doesn't like the Operating System version, then somewhere on this forum are instructions on how to alter the installation so that it doesn't do the OS Check.
