Perc 5/i predictive failure - Raid 0
PE 2950, two drives in Raid 0, one is in predictive failure. I'm unclear how to replace this drive, it is hot-swappable but I know I can not just swap the drive. This is the boot drive. Can I add a hot spare and then?

Hello
There is no recovery method for RAID 0. You will need to delete and recreate the array to replace a drive. If you need to retain data then you will need to back it up before deleting the array.

You should never use RAID 0.

RAID 0 does indeed have applications in today's tech, but VERY few. Sorry if you have this thought out and planned out, but asking the question about replacing a RAID 0 drive means you should not be using it. It should be used sparingly, thoughtfully, and cautiously, knowing full well the technology (both in theory and in practice and the implementation by the hardware in use), as well as the implications.
