Poweredge 2900 4tb HDD problem
Hello,
I have a Dell PowerEdge 2900 with 32 gb ram, perc 6/i raid controler. I have recently buyed 2x4tb wd red and it seams it doesnt recognize them. Ive read that it suports only 2tb hdd. Is there another controler that suports more than 2tb? Ive red that perc h710 is works with 4tb hdd but is it compatible wih my server???
Please help me out.

The PERC 6/i does NOT support drives larger than 2TB.
You can try an H700 controller, which by many accounts works fine in a 2900, but there is no "supported" solution to using those drives on your 2900. (It is more likely an H700 will work than an H710.)

Thank you verry much for your quick reply. I will try what you mentioned if i find that raid controller to test before i buy because the hard drive were like 350 Euro and the raid controler is like 430 $. If i dont find to test i will buy 4x2Tb hdd instead of 2x4tb.
