Poweredge r740xd2 perc card replacment shows all disks in ready mode

Hello All,

We have a PowerEdge 740xd2 server where all the disks are presented to the server as non-raid mode (so no VD configuration) and no OS is installed on this server. There is so much data on all the disks.  After the perc raid card replacement, the disks have gone to ready mode. How can I make the new PERC CARD automatically identify the disks in NON-RAID like earlier so that I don't go through data loss?

Hi, thanks for choosing Dell. I'd personally take out all the disks first, then change the mode from RAID to NON -RAID then put the disks back on. However none of us could guarantee the data will survive. We do not and can not guarantee that part.

Hi, For this, Select Physical Disks to Convert to Non-RAID from Configuration Management. You can find this option by pressing the F2 key.

Hello Young,

Thanks for the response. Are you saying that data loss is inevitable since there are no raid disks and no configuration can be imported?

Hello,

he did not say that data loss is inevitable, but that there is no guarantee that it will be recoverable. This does not mean that they are lost.
Thank you
Marco
