RAID 10 lost after Clear Foreign Configuration

How do I recover RAID 10?   2 of the 4 drives are listed Failure Predicted.

Hello

When you clear the foreign configuration you are deleting the virtual disk. It only deletes the data that describes the virtual disk, so it may still be possible to get the virtual disk back by retagging. Retagging is the process of creating the same virtual disk as before. It will rewrite the data that describes the virtual disk.

If the data is important then you should contact a data recovery company. Not all controllers can be retagged, some controllers force a full initialization on virtual disk creation. A full initialization is a low level format, similar to writing zeros to a drive.

Thanks

I have a PERC H710P in a PE T620. Can this perform retagging?  If so do you have instructions on the process? Also, am able to recreate the VD in RAID 10 with 2 of the drives having Failure Predicted?

Yes, the H710 can perform retags.

A retag requires that almost everything be the same. You must use the same disks. Predictive failure disks should still be functional, so yes, you can use them to retag.

Your scenario is high risk. If the data is important then you should use a data recovery company. If you need someone to assist with the retag then they will need to look through all of the system logs and provide recommendations on how to proceed. If the system is in warranty then you can send me the service tag and company name via private message for assistance.

I have explained retagging several times over the years. I suggest searching the forums if you want to know more information about it. Here is the first result that pulled up for me when I searched.

Does the H710 allow for passthrough?

No, it does not support pass-through, HBA mode, or non-RAID disks. You can create single drive RAID 0s. You can find information about controller capabilities in the manual.
