Replace H700 with H800
Hello,
I have an R815 that currently has a PERC H700. We'd like to replace that with an H800 so that we can add more trays of disks to the server. What do I need to know to make this swap? How does the H800 pick up the disk configuration?

Hello
The H700 is an internal controller, and the H800 is an external controller. There is no supported scenario where you would upgrade between the two controllers. The two controllers run very similar firmware, so I suspect it would be the same as migrating disks between two H700s. The disks would be detected as a foreign configuration, and you would need to import the foreign configuration.
Before migrating disks between controllers it is recommended to update both controllers to the latest firmware.
