Storage Battery alarm flapping

I have a problem with our client's server, a Poweredge T310 (service tag { { {Removed by Moderator}}})
Yesterday its event log was full, because there was a lot of events that indicates "ROMB Battery: Battery sensor, failed was deasserted" and after 10 seconds "ROMB Battery: Battery sensor, failed was asserted".
After cleaning event log, updated bios firmware, and update OMSA version (previous version was 6; now, 8.3), now the errors continue, with this description: "The storage battery has failed" and then "The storage battery is operating normally".
I'm not sure if I can update controller firmware without problems, and I'm not sure if the problem is battery itself or not.
What should I do?

Thanks,

SupportNSI,

You are on the right path, I would suggest updating the controller prior to anything else. Some of the Perc controllers can indeed throw false battery errors if they are too far out of date. Confirm the version the firmware is at for the controller, as well as the OS installed, and I can get you the updates needed.

Let me know what you see.

Thank you Chris, I'm posting what I see on OMSA about perc controller:

Firmware Version

Minimum Required Firmware Version 6.3.3-0002
Driver Version 4.05.01.64
Storport Driver Version 6.1.7601.18386

OS installed is 2008R2 sp1.

Let me know,

The Perc 6/i firmware update needed is located here.

Let me know how it goes.

The battery status, after firmware update, is "failed"

I think it must be replaced.

How can I obtain a new battery?

Let me know if there is anything else I can do.

The battery needed, NU209, doesn't look to be available. You can try Spare Parts at 800-357-3355 or a 3rd party vendor.
