Unable to install SAS 5/E into Poweredge T605 Server 2003 Standard SP2 Domain Controller

Hi,

We have a Dell T605 (Tag:)  specs as follows:

BIOS: v3.1.2

Raid: Perc 6i - FW:6.0.2-0013 3x500gb HDD in Raid 5

On board Broadcom BCM 5708c - FW: 5.0.9 A05 loaded

2x Intel Pro Gigabit Network Cards.

We recently purchased a PV 110T LTO 4 120 Tape drive kit (Tag:) which provides an LTO 4 HH External Tape drive, SAS 5E controller card, cable, tapes etc.

When trying to installed the SAS 5e and booting up server 2003, it takes a long time to get to login screen, once logged into-the on broadcom (only network card use-other two intel nics disabled) seems to have a problem and has resorted back to windows APIA ip address in form of 169.xxx.xxxx.xxx

I do not have full admin rights as server is part of an AD forest and have limited rights on server.

I have updated all possible firmware including the SAS 5e card to version 00:25:47:00:06:22:03:00, tried removing the server 2003 disabled gigabit nics, disabling on board Broadcom sata controller, trying to install sas 5e card and perc 6i cards in different slots, changing irq assignment in bios to no avail.

The broadcom network card drivers has been updated and still the problem persists.

Help!

Can anyone help??

Thanks,

SAS 5/e - 00.25.47.00.06.22.03.00
