Unable to rebuild RAID1 on a PowerEdge R710 with ESXi

Hello,

One of the SAS drive on my RAID has failed. I have repolaced it by a new one but the PERC controller is not able to rebuild the RAID.

I would need to contact with a thecnician to make a fix on-site.

The server does not have warranty and support contract. How can we proceed?

Regards

If the RAID volume didn't rebuild onto the new drive, then there's either an issue with the new drive or an issue with the array. I would install OpenManage onto the host, so that you can check the physical disk state, the hardware logs, as well as exporting a controller log. Linked below is the process on how to install OpenManage. This should allow you to determine the extent of the problem.

Let me know if you have any additional questions, though.

Hello,

Thank you very much for your quick answer.

The information that we have in the RAID is very valuable and I would not want to lose it due to an error when handling the RAID incorrectly.

Would it be possible to get on-site assistance? Would it be possible to get a quote?

Anyway, I will install the OMSA and I get the logs.

Regards.

You'd need to contact Sales for that information. I do believe we have an on-site troubleshooting offering, but I'm not sure of the details. You may have to have the system in warranty to qualify, but I'm not positive.
