Upgrading R640 from SW to HW raid
We need to upgrade three R640s with the 8 bay chassis (321-BBKI) from SW to HW raid. Would a PERC H730 (405-AAEJ) with the proper cable work? If so, what would be the spare part number of the cable? We have two SATA 2.5" SSDs currently.

Hi,
There is not a validated upgrade path from software to hardware raid. The cables you would may need though are I2C cable, HWFNR, the backplane npio cable, 9G3T5, sas cable F84ND and backplane power cable 54R6Y

Thanks. So while this isn't a VALIDATED upgrade path, we should, THEORETICALLY, be able to use the above mentioned card and cabled to upgrade to HW RAID.
Theoretically, of course. :)

Right, we are not doing anything to prevent the upgrade.
