C6220 kvm guest and host cpu configuration

Hello,

we have a dell C6220 server with SLES12 and KVM. We are trying to create a VM with the below libvirt cpu definition:

x86_64

Haswell

Intel

When I try to start the VM i receive following error:

virsh start myvm --console

error: Failed to start domain myvm

error: unsupported configuration: guest and host CPU are not compatible: Host CPU does not provide required features: rtm, invpcid, erms, bmi2, smep, avx2, hle, bmi1, fsgsbase, abm, rdrand, f16c, movbe, fma

Could you help me?

Thanks and BR/

Hi Cristina,

That error occurs when the processor is set to use a feature that it is not capable of. Which CPU model do you have?
