Cannot login to remote server through OpenManage Server Administrator - getting "Certificate Error"

Hello, I have a PowerEdge R410 that I'm trying to connect to remotely from a Windows 10 machine via OpenManage Server Administrator v8.5 (Managed Node).

However, when I am prompted to enter the "Managed System" credentials I get a "Login failed: Certificate error" message.

Any help with this is appreciated.

You would need to install OMSA there. Let me know if the 1311 works after OMSA is installed on the remote server.

Bedanizer,

I am assuming that you have ESXi installed. So I would verify that the Ignore Certificate Checkbox is checked and that the version you're using on the Windows 10 box isn't older than the one installed in ESXi.

Let me know what you see.

Hello Chris,

Thank you for your answer. I am actually running Hyper-V Server 2019 on the PowerEdge.

Hi,

Can you do a screenshot of the login page and the error after login?

Also, at the login page, is the Ignore certificate warnings box checked?

Have you install OMSA on the server too?

When I check "Ignore certificate warnings", I now get "Login failed: connection error".

Thank you. On the first picture, if you check the box "Ignore Certificate Errors" what happens when you try to log in after checking that?

Let me know.

I've attached a screenshot of the login screen, and the certificate error.

No, I don't have OMSA installed on the PowerEdge node I'm trying to connect to...should I have?

I opened port 1311 on the remote server firewall with no luck. Nothing is listening on port 1311. Should I install OMSA on the remote server?

Typing :1311 goes nowhere.

Would you verify if there is a firewall or host issue? Also you can try typing

remote server IP:1311 and see if that connects.

Let me know.

I installed OMSA on the R410 and managed to access it remotely from a browser via port 1311. Success!

Thank you so much for your help!
