Cannot update FW on Intel I350-t using LCC
I have a similar issue.
several Dell R720xd servers with a Gigabit 4P I350-t Adapter, and i can't get the firmware updated to 16.5.20
I am using the latest SUU dvd, from witin the lifecycle controller. The error message in the lifecycle controller is:
SUP0520: Unable to update the Intel(R) Gigabit 4P I350-t Adapter firmware to version 16.5.20.
Any suggestions on how to get the firmware updated? The servers have ESXi6 as OS.

Hello
Did you follow the instructions in the release notes?
http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=6FD9P
If you are updating from anything lower than 15.5 then you have to step to 15.5 before you can update to anything later.
Thanks

It would be much easier to update using the first recommended method from the release notes:
If you don't have a live image of some kind to boot to then download one of our live images:
http://www.dell.com/support/contents/us/en/19/article/Product-Support/Self-support-Knowledgebase/enterprise-resource-center/Enterprise-Tools/support-live-image
Boot to the live image and use a version of the 16.5 update that can run from within that OS:
http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=6FD9P
File Network_Firmware_6FD9P_LN_16.5.20_A00.BIN on that download page should work with RHEL and other Linux operating systems based on RHEL like CentOS. You can update directly to 16.5 through an operating system.
Thanks

i know,i tried this.
but if you use the Lifecycle controller and select 15.5 as firmware it doesn't go forward. It won't do anything when that version is selected.
You can force it to the next step if you also select another component to update, but it wil just skip the network card update.

I just downloaded the much older SUU 14.03 DVD, and am trying that one. Looks like it went one version up, so i will get all the SUU dvd's in between :)

You can't update from 14.5.x directly to 15.5 through the LCC. Please review the release notes again for the installation procedure to perform the update.
Thanks

ok, i am at 15.0.28 now. But none of the next SUU dvd's will let me upgrade to 15.5.0. I can select that version from within the LC firmware menu, but nothing happens when i click next.
I tried SUU_4.07, SUU_14.12, SUU_15.04 and SUU_15.07
With each and everyone the same happens. It doesn't go forward. Is there an ISO somewhere that has an earlier version as 15.5.0 on it, that i can use? Unfortunately the servers are in a datacenter, and none of the regular interfaces have any outbound connecection so i can't use a repository or networkshare to get another image on there :|

Tnx for the help.
I only have access via the DRAC, so i couldn't mount the SUU dvd and the support live limage DVD at the same time.
So for future reference:
eventually this did the trick.
