Dell M630 PXE boot Fails

Hello Community,

I have setup Vsphere  auto deploy server and configured DHCP scope + tftp . Dell M630 blade starts PXE over IPv4 , gets the IP from DHCP and dowloands (NMB- undionly.kpxe.vmw-hardwired) ) from tftp but boot fails at   : PXE Device1: Integrated NIC1 Port 1 Partition 1

Am I missing anything in my blade config ? Below is the screen shot of error log on tftp

Thanks

Hi,

I do not see the attached image. Which NIC are you using? Is the CMC, system BIOS and NIC firmware up to date? What are you using for your PXE server? Ipxe may have issues with NIC partitioning if it is not up to date.

Try changing the number of Max PF MSIX vectors to 0, which will let it choose the number on its own. There is a BIOS update that you may want to do. Is this in an M1000e or a VRTX? What switch is this connected to?

Is the PXE server also a blade? Is it on the same subnet?

PXE server was installed on vcenter. All the blades, chassis, vcenter and vsphere auto deploy are on the same vlan.

Many thanks

Hi,

I just solved same problem on R630 by changing BIOS BOOT parameters from UEFI to BIOS.

This change also worked for a "DELL EMC PowerEdge R740 Server [R740]".
