Dell PowerEdge 2950 BIOS Unable To Update Error
Hello,
We have a Dell PowerEdge 2950 which is running ESXi 5.0 and one virtual 2008 r2 machine. The BIOS of this machine is 2.2.6. However, we we enter our service tag and attempt to install the 2.7.0 BIOS update, no joy.
The original reason why we are attempting to flash the BIOS is because upon upgrading our processors to the intel xeon e5450 3.0ghz chip it wouldn't allow us to install a W08r2 64 bit system stating that it wasn't compatible with a 64 bit system. Upon researching the vmware forums, we have to change the BIOS settings that currently aren't an option.

This is the update you will need to use. www.dell.com/.../DriverDetails
If you have issues with that then we can also use the BUU and SUU to update the entire server, if you like.

Thanks for the quick response. We attempted to use the OM_SUU_653_A00_FILE01 to update and it stated it wasn't the updated version of SUU. However, we did download it directly from dell's support website. I am now attempting to utilize the Repository Manager and save as an SUU ISO.
