Dell Poweredge R710
Hi
I am having an issue with mounting a usb drive as a floppy. it has worked in 10 other servers of this model but I get an error unable to query the disk. I can successfully mount an ISO as a cd.
The server has esxi 5.1
I believe it needs a bios and or DRAC update. I went to the download locations but no instructions and there were Bin, exe file. I know the bin would be used with VMware but the exe? Not sure how to do the upgrade with this os?
Any help would be great.

Hi John,
You can use the exe version from the lifecycle controller, F10 during post. That is the easiest way to update an ESXi system. http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/SLN283166/EN

Is there a way to get the files first and then point the tool to the location? the server does not have internet access to go out to get the files and I there is no local repository.

You can use the windows update package on a usb stick or optical media and use that for the source for the platform update.
