Dell Poweredge T410 Server Unsupported Memory configuration Detected
I have a dell Poweredge T410 server with one CPU that had 8 gig of memory installed.
All 4 memory slots beside CPU1 had 2 gig of memory installed.
I bought 32 Gig of memory from Dell to replace the 8 gig. (bought 4 x 8 gig)
I installed all 4 8gig memory (SNPP9RN2C/8G 1333mhz PC3L-10600) on package
When I boot the server I see
System Memory Size 24gb, memory speed 1067mhz
Warning:Unsupported memory configuration detected.
Memory configuration is not optimal
the recommended memory configuration is
CPU1
Slots A1 Dimm A
Slots A4 Blank
Slots A2 Dimm A
Slots A3 Dimm A
Everything I read says I should be able to put 4x8 Gig memory chips in the server, in the slots I put them in.
The Bios version is 1.5.3 if it matters.
Thanks, Any help would be appreciated.

In the end, I have to admit it was my error as the memory must not have been seated correctly. After I removed it and reinstalled it, it worked fine. Thanks for your suggestion, it was very logical.

Hello.
I can see that Slot A4 is blank. Do you have a memory DIMM installed on this memory slot? If so, it may indicate a failed DIMM. Firmly re-seat the DIMM on slot A4 and reboot the server. Otherwise, swap the DIMMs between slots A1 &A4 and observer whether or not the blank follows the DIMM to slot 2. When slot 2 is blank, replace the DIMM else replace the system board.

Robert, thanks for some excellent advice.
Yes slot A4 has a dimm installed hat does not seem to be recognized.
Your suggestion makes a lot of sense and I will try it as soon as I can bring down the server, likely about a week or so but I suspect this will tell me a lot.
