Is there an updated list of CPU support for Dell R710?

Hello

Information on CPU support is in the manual. If there is an information update that we need to publish it will be in the manual section. Information updates supersede information contained within the manual. They are addendums to the manual that we publish instead of releasing a new manual.

There is an information update regarding 5600 series CPU support. We have not sold 11th generation servers for a few years. I would not expect any new CPU support beyond what is already available.

Thanks

I've looked at this pdf file, which shows a list of supported processors. However, it doesn't mention the  x5550 processor, which my server R710 has. Also, i've seen an R710 server for sale that uses the x5690 processor, which also not listed in the pdf file (PowerEdge R710 Technical Guide ). I would also like to add that the link you have provided I couldn't find a manual that tells me about supported processors.

One last thing, this verification image to prove that i'm not a robot is annoying.

I would also like to know if there is a answer to his question. I have seen other Forums that claim as long as its a Intel and its the correct model. You can get other versions to work.

I assume Dells Supported CPU specs, just means to state that this is what they support and that is all they want of it. Which makes sense.

Related Sites that make me wonder.

(Both are the same site. However, the second link clearly shows the R710 Server being support by the R710s. Considering the 90s vs the 80s have the same power consumption. why not get the extra 10 or so GHzs out of it if you are doing the upgrade?)

However, I wish I could find a good site that had more info so I could buy something newer with confidence. I have the "X5650 2.66GHz 95W 12M 6 6.4GT/s". Although I just purchased from ebay, the "X5680 3.33GHz 130W 12M 6 6.4GT/s". To Upgrade the Servers performance. Next to having all the RAM slots Maxed out. (HomeLab.) I am probably going to purchase the 90 from ebay used anyway to see if it works. And return the one that turns out to be the lesser of the two options.)

Did you manage to get the 90s working on the R710?
