Dell SC1425 and Intel Xeon Dual Core 7140M 800Mhz CPU
I currently have a SC1425 that had a Single Core 3.6Mhz 800Mhz CPU. Everything worked. I decided to upgrade to a 7140M Dual Core. Both cpus are 604 socket. I installed the 7140M, but the server won't go through the POST. I just get a black screen. I'd like to know if the 7140M processors work on the SC1425 motherboard? Oh, I'm also using the A03 bios. Thanks.

No, the 7140M is not validated to work on the SC1425. That is a Tulsa series processor. The two series validated are Nocona and Irwindale. Not all of the processors in those series may work. I would suggest checking before you buy a processor.
The big problem with the 7140M is wattage. The highest wattage on a supported CPU is 110. I show the 7140M is a 150w CPU.
