Dell VRTX, Dell M620 NIC Firmware Updates

I have a Dell VRTX with M620 Blades.  In the future, I will bring the Dell VRTX down briefly for firmware updates (PERC8, Mainboard, Expander).

After doing the above firmware updates, I would like to update the NIC Firmwares (Broadcom BCM5719 & Intel 10G 2P X520-k bNDC).  How to do you perform these NIC firmware updates?  I see no method of doing these updates using either the VRTX Chassis CMC or M620 iDRAC's.  Do you make some sort of boot disk with the appropriate drivers on it?  What is a basic procedure for doing these firmware updates?

Thanks in Advance.

Hi,
What OS are you running? The VRTX download page has OS update packages for both Intel and Broadcom NICs.
Intel: www.dell.com/.../DriversDetails
Broadcom: www.dell.com/.../DriversDetails

Blade Operating System:  ESXi 5.1x

VM Operating Systems:  Windows Server 2012 R2 64 bit

It is the NIC Firmware that I want to update, not the drivers.

Thank you.

In that case you will have to boot to our live linux image and run the updates from there. The firmware updates are in the links that I provided.

Support Live image: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=CWF92&fileId=3431135544&osCode=WS8R2&productCode=poweredge-vrtx&languageCode=EN&categoryId=DI

How do you Run the Firmware Updates from the Live Linux Image?  I know how to Boot a Live Linux Image but am not familiar with how to do the Firmware Updates from the Live Linux Image.

Thank you.

You should be able to use the repository. http://linux.dell.com/repo/hardware/DSU_15.05.00/

If not you can boot to the image and then have the updates on a memory stick. Run a chmod 555 on the updates and then ./filename of the update.

You should also be able to boot to F10 on the servers and use the platform updates option.

Will the Dell Support Live Image Version 2.2 boot OK on a typical Desktop PC.  My Office PC is a Dell OptiPlex 990.  I would like to boot the ISO and familiarize myself with it without making any changes to my Office PC.

Thank you.

It should work fine unless there are missing drivers, but most of the generic ones should be there.
