No boot device available
Hi,
Just got a no boot device available message on a PowerEdge T410 with a flashing orange light on hard drive 0. Tried to run diagnostics by pressing F10 but wouldnt run. There are 5 other drives in RAID 5 with data.
Is it possible to replace the hard drive with a new drive and recover the system?

No, replacing the disk will not help.
Six total drives in a RAID 5 and disk 0 is offline? The system should still boot and the data be available, so if it isn't booting then the OS is damaged and needs to be repaired. Which OS?
After the OS is repaired, then you can worry about rebuilding/replacing disk 0.

Yep, you need to boot to a Server 2008 disc and repair. I would start with running a Startup Repair. If unsuccessful, try a chkdsk /r, then a bootrec /fixmbr, bootrec /fixboot, and/or even a bootrec /rebuildbcd, if needed.

Tried to boot from the disk but still got an error saying no boot device found. Could it be a problem with the RAID controller card?

Not likely. If you are getting a "no boot device" message when trying to boot to a 2008 disc, then it is not booting to it - damaged, created incorrectly, BIOS not set to boot to DVD, etc.
