PERC 5e controller battery replacement
Hi, we have a PE 2950 server with Perc 5e controllers. I replaced the controller battery with a new one but its showing up as missing. I left the server plugged into power on for about 30 minutes. Then I powered the sever on. Still no change. Is there a
# /opt/dell/srvadmin/bin/omconfig storage battery action=startlearn controller=1 battery=0
Operation not supported. Read, action=startlearn
Refer to the documentation for more information.
I am just wondering is it a failing controller card or just a bad battery. Is there a diagnostic test to check the controller?

Hello.
Re-seat the battery and associated controller cable. Check the LCD for any other message and leave the server powered for at least 1 hour. Ensure that the server is up to date including BIOS and controller firmware.

I tried that today. I even replaced with new batteries I had and left server plugged into power and powered off for about 8 hours. Powered server on and still no luck with batteries. Status is below.

Is the controller up to date? What is the status of the array on the controller? Try the same battery on another controller just to test.
