PowerEdge 1800 replaced power supply now Green & amber light blink
I have a Poweredge 1800 running Windows 2003. My power supply went out I jsut replaced them and server will not boot and green and amber light just flash. Any suggestions?

Did you get a validated power supply for an 1800 or a generic/retail power supply? Do you get any video? Beeps? Fans? How sure are you that it was a power supply problem and not a motherboard problem?

What would I need to do to put the hard drives from the older 1800 to the newer one?

It will tell you which RAID controller you have during POST. CTRL-A will be for the CERC SATA 1.5/6CH, CTRL-M will be for a SCSI controller (probably the PERC 4/DC).

I put the drives form Server 1 into Server 2. Server powers up fans come on no video and then starts beeping no pattern just constant beeps,

Just that ... pull the drives (and preferably the controller with them) and put them in the new server. Which RAID controller are we talking about? It is VERY important to mark the drives in their appropriate order.

I have another 1800 with 2 good power supplies but that server has no operaing system. Remove power supplies and installed in old server. I get no beeps and fans are not coming on.

You might have a bad controller ... take it out ... does it boot to BIOS? Put it in ... if it doesn't boot to BIOS, then either the BIOS needs to be updated to support that controller or the card isn't functional. You might try clearing the NVRAM using the jumpers on the motherboard with the card in. Did you swap the card with the drives, or just the drives?
