PowerEdge R520 Memory Upgrade

Hello everyone, hope you could help me on this one:

I don't know why it's so difficult to search for a memory upgrade: when displaying the original configuration with the service tag, the "Parts Number" doesn't match manufacturer number nor Dell part number, it's one big mess...

I have a PowerEdge R520 with a "0R45J" Parts Number memory (32GB, RDIMM, Low Voltage, 1333, Quad Rank, etc.). It's just one module of 32GB RAM of those descriptions, but it doesn't appear like if it was compatible with R520. It says compatible with 620, 515, 420, 720 and others.

I found at Dell Store (Shop) online, this exact memory (although there are two items that match):

1. Dell Part Number A6994464

2. Dell Part Number A6994475

How to know which one is exactly the 0R45J part number listed in the original configuration via service tag?

My service tag is "[ADMIN NOTE:  Service Tag removed per privacy policy]".

Please help me!!!

Roberto Lopez,

The dimm #1 is the dimm you are looking for. With the Manufacturer Part# : SNP0R45JC/32G | Dell Part# : A6994464 you can see the 0R45J within the Manufacturer #. I have addressed the fact it isn't displaying the R520 as compatible, as I ensure you it is.

Let me know if this helps.

Thank you for your answer.

I had just the same thought about the Manufacturer # BUT I tried with other components, for example, the processor:

It says "G5FPW" on the Parts List via Service Tag, while the component alone says "Manufacturer Part# 00001; Dell Part# 319-1189". Because of the processor technical specs, I know it's the very same processor, but basically there's no 100% guarantee with the memory module.

I need something stronger, we're talking a module of those is almost $1150.

So, I'm going to need a stronger confirmation.

Thank you anyway!
