Poweredge 1950 Gen I with a Xeon X5450?
Does the motherboard of a Poweredge 1950 Gen I support a CPU swap from the Xeon 5060 to a Xeon X5450? I know the Gen III's support that CPU but is it possible to put one in the first generation without a board swap?

Nope. Only the III boards will support 5400-series processors.

Yes, pretty much all of them up to the X5470.
Did you mean to ask if the I supported any quad-core processors? If so, then no. The I supports only 5000/5100 processors, none of which are quad-core.
