Poweredge T410, network adapter went off line

After about 3 weeks of normal operation, the server went off the LAN. Network adapter 1, which is connected to the LAN showed as enabled in device manager.  When I disabled and then re-enabled the device, it went back on line. The option to allow the computer to turn the device off for power management was turned on, must be the default. I saw no entries in the logs (running Windows 2008R2). I am wondering if power management might have turned it off and failed to turn it back on. Anyone else seen such? Does anyone know if an event is logged if PM turns the thing off? I guess I am anti-environment or something, but I am firmly against any power management stuff for a server.
