Poweredge r710 3.5 sas to 2.5?

Hey guys, I just messed up and bought 3 3.5 inch sas drives for my poweredge r710. Turns out, the r710 is a 2.5 inch. Is there any work around you guys know of? Maybe some type of adapter? Thanks

JohnRichfield,

This is based on how the server is set up. If you Private Message me the svc tag I can confirm the hardware installed. As I would want to see if the 2.5 inch drives are currently in drive carriers, or are straight to the server. If they are in carriers then you can remove them and use the 3.5, if they are straight then there is no supported way for the chassis to use them.

You can find the chassis on page 12 here

Let me know what you see.

Only workaround would be to use an extension cable, but honestly, that is a horrible idea. Return them and get the right drives.
