R610 - USC - "Operating system installation is not supported on this system"
Hi
I've upgraded firmware of R610 server before reinstalling to Windows Server 2012. All components are now up to date - please see details: http://www.scio.cz/1_download/!/Dell_update.png
But OS cannot be installed due to the following error message:
Second server with exactly the same configuration passed without such error!
Can you please help?
Regards

I've downgraded OS Drivers Pack and then upgraded again. Timestamp is correct now and OS error message is gone!

Thanks for your question. Will the server install any OS or does it just fail on Server 2012?

That error message comes before Unified Server Configurator asks for OS type to install. So I cannot install any other OS using USC. I can probably install OS without USC (didn’t try that) but I want to be sure my production server is OK.

I didn’t take notice of wrong timestamp until now.

Latest OS Pack is already installed:
But there is wrong timestamp. Could that be a cause of problem?

I don’t see the OS Drivers Pack updated in that list.
Here is the latest version 7.3.0.10:

*Server 2012 support was added in update 7.2.1.2:

your iDrac version is quite old as well, we are currently at version 1.95

I was trying to update iDrac using USC (FTP). Server restarts but iDrac is not updated. No error message at all.
“Update Package for Microsoft® Windows®-ESM_Firmware_CMDN0_WN32_1.95_A00.EXE” doesn’t work either:

(I hate to say this) but can you remove power cords from the system? This will allow the idrac to reset and perhaps allow you to perform the update from within Windows. This should be a one time thing because you have an imbalance in the idrac/LC versions. they should be at a minimum 1.85 and 1.5.2 respectively.

I asked data center staff to unplug both power sources. It didn’t help.
