Unable to boot a Dell 1550 from an external device
Hi All
Not sure if anyone has experienced this issue,
I have been trying to boot a Dell 1550 from an external device, but do not get the option within the setup
Any ideas would be much appreciated

The 1550 doesn't support booting from an external device. It was until the 8th generation (1850, 2800, 6850, etc). Are you having an issue with the optical or floppy on the server?

You may have to look for a PXE boot solution, or you could put an Adaptec 2950 in the server and connect an external SCSI CDROM (may need to dig on ebay or so as I don't think anyone makes them anymore).
