RE: Upgrade R320 Ram

Hi

You can use both of these memory modules together, the only difference is the speed and the faster memory will slow down to match.

You can populate any memory first but with my ocd i usually populate fastest (12800r) first

RE: Upgrade R320 Ram

if you original 2 memory modules were in slots 1 and 2 then yes 3 and 4 would be where you put the 2 additional modules

if the original modules were in slots 2 and 3 then you would put the additional memory in slots 4 and 5

This is due to the memory mode being used, the first is optimizer mode and the second mode is advanced ecc or mirror mode configuration

RE: Upgrade R320 Ram

the original two modules are from Type A , it already installed on the first and the second white slots , we bought the second two modules , so i populate the first one on the third white slot , and the second one on the first black slot

when i started the server , the front panel light indicates that something is wrong on the memory slots and the server didn't boot .

RE: Upgrade R320 Ram

What is the error you are getting on the LCD and also have you tested the memory you have purchased in the original slots on it's own to make sure it is working correctly
